Windship Farm was incorporated in November, 2021 with the goal of creating mobile wind platforms by installing wind turbines on the decks of 5 disused supertankers and storing the generated power in onboard Tesla battery packs.

 

Once the battery packs are fully charged, taking approximately 32 days, the ships will dock anywhere supertankers dock today, then connect their 420 kV subsea cable to onshore facilities to discharge their stored energy into the power grid.

 

The project will use proven technology currently in production today, such as the Tesla Powerpacks and GE wind turbines, to produce a new type of offshore wind-energy platform.

 

When the supertankers are scrubbed clean of any petroleum residue and the diesel engines are replaced with Corvus Blue Whale Electric power plants, Windship Farm will have a zero carbon footprint.
